This Wabi-Sabi inspired piece is titled ‘Steel’. Created with reclaimed wood for the basic structure, it has aged steel, marble and a concrete block for the base. I found an oyster shell from a trip to Tampa Bay and smooth river rock Northern California. I used acrylic paint to create the pattern on one side. Heavy galvanized bolts, steel wire, aged screws and bolts finished off the work.
The work measures 32.75 inches high (82.3cm), 9 inches wide (22.86cm), and 6 inches deep (15.24cm). The sculpture weighs 19.72 lbs. (8.95kg).
