A small rustic sculpture sure to initiate conversation wherever it is displayed.

found nails and hardware

acrylic paint on reclaimed wood

double sided

aged marble base with felt pads underneath

handmade one at a time

The ancient Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi is embodied in this small handmade sculpture which honors rustic, natural materials and pays homage to the beauty of things unconventional. The essence of Wabi-Sabi helps you to live a happier life as it reminds you that true beauty often lies in what is modest, natural, and real.

My sculptures are the opposite of the predictability and uniformity of manufactured goods. Created with recycled and repurposed materials they display a strength of character. The work asks you to slow down and contemplate the exceptional beauty of rustic, primitive surfaces and natural objects. There is a state of grace and peacefulness you can arrive at through the appreciation of the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic.

My sculptures truly have that unique warmth of hand about them that can only come from the individual attention and care they receive during the creative process. There is a glaring difference (that is readily apparent) we all can see and feel between a hand crafted work of art and something manufactured in a plant by a robotic machine. My artwork is created one at a time, by hand with love, no AI, no buy-sell.

Great for a fireplace mantel, table center piece or desktop decor.
